By previewing the lead-up to our trainer-client partnership, I seek to provide a comprehensive overview of the journey ahead— with no unexpected surprises along the way.
Many trainers’ initial client interaction feels like an interview, where casual conversation is intermingled with intake questions regarding one’s health history, physical activity, and previous personal training experiences— in an often rushed, somewhat uncomfortable encounter limited by a set timeframe.
This practice forces each client to quickly answer questions and accurately recall important information on-the-spot, leading to missing information, unnecessary follow-ups, and increased risk of improper programming.
Before scheduling an in-person consultation, take a few minutes to read through the site and fill out this form.
Completing the intake form on your own time, from the comfort of your own home, minimizes the risk that something important gets missed.
In doing so, you enable our first live meeting to emphasize the present and future— with limited time spent following up on the past.
Once your Intake Form has been submitted, I'll review your responses within 24-48 hours and reach out to confirm the timing of your consultation.
We'll talk through your intake form responses and go into detail regarding my overall approach to training.
If you like what you hear, we'll take a quick tour of the gym to give you a sense of where the magic happens and to preview what's next: a "Week Zero" Form and Strength Assessment.
Before you commit to any long-term decision, it's important for me to meet you where you're at. Many trainers' initial consultations are concluded with a hard sell, tasking prospective clients with an an all-or-nothing decision based on incomplete information about whether their trainer's approach actually resonates in practice.
Instead of immediately asking you to commit to a long-term paid package, I'll recommend a three- to four-session "Week Zero" trial assessment — at a discounted per-session fee — to help you understand what you're getting into in a low-pressure, low-cost setting. Doing so enables me to assess your form and your strength, which facilitates weight calibration, workout plan creation, and efficient program progression.
Once Assessment Week concludes, it'll be time to decide whether my approach is right for you.
If so, great!
I'll walk you through the various session packages available, along with associated pricing tiers and payment options.
If not, no worries!
My only ask of you will be for feedback, so that I can incorporate any improvement points into my overall offering.
Next comes the most important part: creating your customized training program.
Once Assessment Week concludes, I'll pull from my own experience — including over 100 different lifts — in order to create a workout plan tailored specifically to your needs. Your plan is dynamic based on your experience, your goals, and any injury-related lifting limitations. By the time we meet for our first session, we'll be fully equipped to begin your weight training journey.
Don't worry— your plan can always be updated to incorporate any "favorite lifts" or to edit out exercises of concern.
